  • Rutherford’s Vascular Surgery 7th Edition, edited by Cronenwett JL, Johnston KW and published by Saunders/Elselvier Incorporated is a two-volume comprehensive reference text for the vascular specialist. Updated approximately every 5-years, this evidence-based and fully-referenced work combines the permanence of the written word with the flexibility of integrated online content, available at www.expertconsult.com. The electronic version (included with purchase) permits periodic updates, ensuring the currency of information. The full reference list is incorporated into the online version, permitting an element of conciseness, whilst selected key-references are displayed at the conclusion of each chapter.

The 7th edition content is elegantly structured, using sections and (sub)chapters to partition information into easily-manageable quantities. Volume 1 focuses primarily upon biomedical sciences, epidemiology, clinical assessment and investigation of vascular patients. By contrast, volume 2 incorporates an abundance of technical advice and device-information in addition to intuitive anatomically-arranged sections encompassing the full spectrum of vascular pathology. All chapters are illustrated with logical and descriptive artwork, photographs or radiographs to facilitate understanding.

This revision includes endovascular and non-operative therapies throughout the book, in addition to current surgical management strategies. Rutherford’s may be commended to vascular surgeons (trained and training), interventionalists and all clinicians participating in cardiovascular research.
