BJS trauma supplement podcast

In this podcast, the concept of the trauma chain of survival is discussed by Kjetil Søreide, author of the Editorial entitled "Strengthening the trauma chain of survival".  Kjetil is also an editor on the BJS.  The article can be access here.

Des Winter, also an editor on the BJS, goes on to talk about the articles "Outcome of selective non-operative management of penetrating abdominal injuries from the North American National Trauma Database" by Nabeel Zafar et al. and "Surgical management and outcome of civilian gunshot injuries to the pancreas" by Chinnery et al. Professor Winter sees both these studies as indicative of the step towards the globalization of trauma care.

Olaf Schouten, an Editor Assistant on the BJS, then discusses the relevance of this trauma supplement to trainee surgeons.
