Multiple duodenal gallstones found at endoscopy

A 76-year-old woman presented with a 6 month history of postprandial vomiting and weight loss. CT demonstrated a dilated second part of duodenum (arrow) with a collapsed segement beyond (Fig. 1a), and upper GI endoscopy revealed a cluster of gallstones trapped above a tight duodenal stricture (Fig. 1b). Biopsy confirmed adenocarcinoma of the duodenum and following Whipple’s resection, the patient made a good recovery.
