This computed tomography angiogram shows a splenic artery aneurysm found incidentally during gastrointestinal investigation (Fig. a, arrow). It has been managed with an endovascular stent. Splenic artery aneurysm is rare and often diagnosed as an incidental finding. Rupture is difficult to predict and can be associated with high mortality, particularly in the third trimester of pregnancy. An operative approach often requires splenectomy. Fig. b demonstrates endovascular stenting (arrow) of the aneurysm with preservation of the distal circulation.
