Conclusion

A total of 364 patients with up to four liver metastases were randomly allocated six cycles of chemotherapy before, and six cycles after their liver surgery. After three years, progression-free survival was improved in the chemotherapy group: 35.4 vs. 28.1 per cent, P=0.058.
